Meike is the daughter of the noble von Essen family. Once one of the wealthiest families in Germany, the von Essen name has since been tarnished after a string of bad business decisions led them to financial ruin.
Desperate to be restored to their former wealth and glory, Meike’s parents try to marry their only daughter off to the self-made businessman Walter Gerhardt. Meike possesses no fond feelings towards Walter – she hardly knows the man – but her mother is determined to make the match work, and Meike can see no way out of her impending engagement.
Meike’s future as a wife to the cold, careless Walter seems set in stone – until the carriage bearing her and her family through the forest, to Walter’s home in Augsburg, is set upon by bandits.
Meike’s parents are killed, though Meike is able to escape alongside her faithful maid, Henrieke. The pair dash through the woods, searching for sanctuary – and in so doing they find an eerie, tumbledown castle hidden among the trees.
This castle, as Meike soon discovers, belongs to a young woman called Magdalena. Short of stature, with flowing fair hair, Magdalena looks like a sweet, innocent thing, but there’s more to her than meets the eye.
Magdalena is, in fact, a vampire – and now she has Meike in her clutches, it seems unlikely that Meike will ever be able to escape.

Note: The adult patch can be downloaded (for free) on its own if you can't access the adult patch on Steam for whatever reason.
Drop the adult.rpa in Cage of Roses's game folder, overwriting the pre-existing adult.rpa file, and you're good to go!

I'm going to keep the screenshots as they are, as I don't think they spoil any major plot elements. Showing off the romantic CGs is also the easiest way for yuri VNs like this to get attention, as people typically read yuri stories for moments like these. Still, thank you for the feedback.

I really love this game and everything from the demo gameplay I watched since I cant afford the game itself, I'd be really grateful if someone could play the full game and post it for those that cant afford the game <3 (If I could I would totally buy it myself.)
hi! i'm not seeing the mac version in the downloads, just the .exe files.
You have to launch the .app file if you want to play the Mac build.
I've heard from other developers that macs don't like to open Itchio downloads which aren't certified as a security feature, so your mac might refuse to open the file. If you can't get the .app to run after downloading the game from Itchio, you would be better off claiming a free Steam key for the game and launching it through Steam instead. Steam's launcher can bypass Mac's security and the game should open properly then.

Hi! Just thought you should know, the Android version of the game appears to crash when starting the story as soon as the first transition ends. I tried with both available APKs on two different Android devices and it crashed every time.

I've fixed the issue now, so the android builds of the game (and the demo) should all be playable at the moment. Hopefully there will no more issues with the android build!
