A bittersweet VN that I finished a few months ago, yet it remains one of my favourite read. The settings, the characters and the tragedy it has -- just so good. Admittedly I only started entering the cave-of-no-return Yuelverse recently through his other AU stories but going to the OG Yuel was correct, it left me wanting more of his stories.
I'm not one to make helpful review essays, so usually I'd just share the parts I loved the most when I played VNs. I'm a fan of ebi's writing; this story is beautifully written. The characters art in Ashes is lovely, the background and vibe are really immersive, and lastly: the BGMs are so memorable, that I think I spent an hour extra playing the music room, appreciating the lyrics. Thank you for including that in-game.
This story occasionally appears in my mind every now and then even after a few months since I finished it. I find myself recommending this to some family members. It's the experience I want to share to more people.
Aaa that's true lol it does sound awkward, but don't worry - I've recommended this to two other people of similar age and interest, they're really chill with it and they appreciated it a lot! ^^ All is good!
Excellent art and music; I particularly enjoyed the intro. Regarding the writing, it's definitely dark, but I think it's well-done and has interesting things to say, and if nothing else the ending is very memorable.
I am someone who read Reverend Insanity and I did not expect that there would be someone who cared so much about the story and characters among the developers of porn games.
This visual novel feels like a twisted version of 1001 Nights. The young king is so obsessed with his "Scheherazade" he would do anything in order to become her one and only, no matter how much blood is going to be spilled. Ebi-Hime did a great job showing how Yuel has changed from a sweet innocent child into a cruel adult. Yuel is so caught up in his delusional "romance" with Safiya that he refuses to notice anything else... Some critics may call this type of story "deliciously dark".
This story does have some of my favourite characters I've written to date (I think they're all pretty interesting; especially the main character), but I can imagine some people finding the content upsetting. It might be best to give it a miss if you think it will bother you.
Unfortunately though, I think I'm skipping this one. While I do like my themes dark and stories serious, I'm not very fond of walking away depressed or anxious, and yandere are, uhh... kinda spooky to me.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wonde if it'd be awkward to recommend a story with so many r18 scenes to your family though hahaha ;;;
Well I guess there is the all ages version...

Entirely fucked up but only in the most beautiful and tragic way. Excellent writing with fascinating characters.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it! <3
Ahh, more relentless misery, I take it? Interesting premise, but I can't help but think I can't handle this particular brand of bad vibes.
It is a pretty grim story, indeed!

Haha, well, I appreciate the warning.
