Hello everybody!

I'm writing a quick post to let you know that I've been working on a spin-off/sequel to The Fairy's Secret called In Fair Spirits! I've actually been working on In Fair Spirits for a while. I started writing the script for it before I'd even released The Fairy's Secret, and a large chunk of the project has already been finished, though I've not spoken about it on social media before.

So! What is In Fair Spirits?



In Fair Spirits is a BL VN which features Edmund as the main character. Edmund was a fairly underutilised and one-dimensional antagonist in The Fairy's Song, though I fleshed him out a bit and upgraded him to a semi-important side character in The Fairy's Secret.

The Fairy's Secret is still very much the Marnie and Lisbeth show, however: and for good reason. They're the main characters, so the story naturally focuses more on them and their relationship than the plights of the side characters.

I enjoyed writing Edmund quite a bit, however, and I felt like there was still room to develop and expand upon his character. While Lisbeth's issues were wrapped up nicely in The Fairy's Secret, Edmund still has some Trauma he could stand to work through, which I thought would make for an interesting story...

So, In Fair Spirits was born.



In Fair Spirits is set one year after the events of The Fairy's Secret. It deals with him trying to adapt and adjust to life in the 21st century, and how to navigate his complicated feelings about leaving his old way of life (and his beloved younger sister) behind him. He also meets a cute gothic boy living in Fenchapel, one thing leads to another, and they end up kissing.

It's all pretty cute and fluffy for the most part and their relationship mirrors the relationship between Marnie and Lisbeth in The Fairy's Song/Secret.

I mean, why stop at having one cute gay couple in my multi-work lite fantasy story when I could have two?

So, that's In Fair Spirits. I've been quietly making a lot of progress on it, and it's pretty much finished. The script is fully done (though I might add a few more scenes to it), I've already given it two rounds of proofreading, it's fully coded and functional in Ren'py, and I've already received all of the new assets for it.

I'm not sure when it will come out, but it'll probably be done before the end of the year.

Oh, and an important note: Marnie and Lisbeth do appear in In Fair Spirits, but they're cameo characters. The story is told from Edmund's POV, and as Marnie has moved to London to attend university, she doesn't get much screen time. If you only care about cute yuri fluff and you're indifferent to BL, you might want to give this project a miss.

If this doesn't bother you, however, then I hope you'll find In Fair Spirits enjoyable when it comes out! ❤️✨
