This visual novel explores topics some readers may find discomforting, such as: pregnancy and childbirth, miscarriages, child abuse/neglect, and death. It also contains some gory scenes which, though not explicit, might unsettle people.
Dying of frostbite in the cold, unforgiving environs of Iceland, Gréta Egilsdóttir is left to wonder how, exactly, she found herself in such a dire situation.
Perhaps it began with Steina’s baby, or with Kai agreeing to stay the night, or with that kiss she almost shared with Nataníel.
Perhaps it began when she journeyed from her home of Reykjahlíð to work as a housemaid in the distant fishing village of Mýrakot...
Or perhaps it began three years ago, when her grandmother was still alive, and she lived in the small farming village of Reykjahlíð.
That was when Gréta first met him: the world-weary doctor with the fair hair, the tired eyes, and the intense, almost obsessive desire to help people.
For Gréta, meeting Nataníel Jóhannsson was love at first sight...
But there are some loves which cannot — or perhaps should not — be.

A kinetic story with no choices or branches
Very cute custom character artwork
A custom OST
An atmospheric story with a lot of drama
One handsome, extremely tired doctor
Even more drama
Some characters might die idk you'll have to read it and find out!
Please note: This VN does not have any choices or branches. The content is rather dark, and may upset some people. One of the male characters is also married, so you might want to give this story a miss if you think that would bother you!
Just finished it. That was beautiful and sweet, yet dark. Cool, I needed both!
After the excellent intro sequence, I wasn't very fond of the first chapter. I was a bit doubtful. But then it clicked and proved to be more profound than it first seemed. One particular character is well written : cleverly gray. You never know what to think, which I like.
Also, the writing is better than usual for a visual novel, I think. The art is stunning and the music is quite atmospheric. Overall, it's a beautiful experience.
With Eyes of Ice is an incredibly atmospheric visual novel. The opening sequence impressed me a lot! The visuals went so well with the text. Cute character designs look perfect for a sweet, fluffy otome game, but don't let that fact fool you: the story gets darker and gives the vibes of a gothic horror near the end. The characters feel alive and their interactions (depending on the scene) are heartwarming and heartbreaking.
P.S. Nataniel's personality is as beautiful as his character design T_T
