first of all I loved the narrative, the soundtrack and the atmosphere in general, at the beginning I was a little lost, but I enjoyed it very much, I hope to find more visual novels like this in the future, very good work❤️😊.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! <3

I finished the game yesterday late at night, and this was an absolute masterpiece of a VN. The writing is some of the best literarily that I've seen in the genre, and the development of the characters within each of the choices you make draws you into each story. I can't begin to describe how much I enjoyed the 2nd person narrative and its deep dive into the protagonist's troubled psyche. Her description of affluous flirtations with the characters she meets is endearing and beautiful to read. The artwork was pretty and underlined what the writing expressed about the characters. I've rarely been drawn into a VN like this one.

(+3)

just finished the game!! i am so in love with the theme of the game and the way it portrays certain types of characters. i can't really describe it but it's so genius ahh😭

(+2)

It's a pity that game haven't portuguese subtitles, he looks very interesting. Unfortaly my english it's bad yet!

(+1)

This game is so atmospheric, and I love all of the stories and especially the characters! There was a lot more reading than I expected (I did not check before downloading haha), but that kind of helped the story feel more fantasy-like, it really was like reading a book of fairy tales ! The art is so gorgeous too, I love the style.

Spoilers?

.

I liked having a different ending with the witch after playing through (skipping through) the story again. Like her resetting the game and all, super cool!

I kind of wish there were good endings too, but I totally understand why there aren't since it doesn't really fit the theme? I just like the characters and feel bad haha. But I liked the game a lot in any case <3

(+1)

omfg i love this game! The story, the characters, the art, the everything 10/10!!

(+1)

medea my beloved...</3

anyway, the fairy tale vibe of this game was just -- BEAUTIFUL!

i was just looking through the yandere jams of this year and found this masterpiece. damn, i knew it was dark, but not that it was THIS dark!

----spoilers, i guess?----

the second person narrative of this game was so unsettling, yet so fascinating! when it expressed it own opinions, i had a slight hint of who it could be! i also wondered why the characters did not have their own names and waiting for them to introduce themselves T_T

but the notes made the whole game crystal clear!

again, the game's fairytale vibes were right on point! especially the princess and the mermaid's route (as you wrote in the notes, the gravedigger is not one of the archetypes)!

my favourite was the mermaid, because of her character design, soundtrack and...character design! (i like yanderes with the 'it has to be her' vibes, that's why, i won't mention her or any other character's love for rosette) but their character designs and soundtracks were really unique and intriguing !

i loved rosette at the end when she spoke with her own 'voice' but i REALLY hate it when the yanderes get bad end...but well, this game turned out REALLY good and enjoyable as a result, so i won't criticize it! :)

overall, as a conclusion, i found a masterpiece by coincidence: and i'm really satisfied with the results!

my favorite was the princess, so charminggg (and i guess i didnt look when i downloaded this because i was SURPRISED (plesently tho) when it got dark)

love them all<3, love the witch<3, amazing experience

(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! <3

Loving it So far, Gonna Find time to do More

(+1)

Loved the game, particularly the gravedigger route, but a question: How is the soundtrack .zip bigger than the entire game? Some of the tracks in it are over 100MB

(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
The OST is larger than the game because the OST includes the files in FLAC format, which is a lossless high res file format. The tracks were exported into OGG for the actual game, to cut down on file space, but the tracks in the OST should sound a little crisper.

(+1)

I had suspected that at first, so was surprised when I found that the files were all .wavs. So, after reading your response I did some research though and apparantly it's possible for flacs and wavs to be the same.  I made a copy of one and changed it to a .flac and it could still play just fine.

Well, I accidentally learned something! Thanks.

(+1)

Oh, the files could just be in .wav format haha. I didn't remember the file format used for the OST off the top of my head. I know the tracks in the OST are higher quality than they are in the actual VN, though.

Sorry I'm a little late to the party. Currently finished this game at almost 2 in the morning. Was completely worth it. Thank you for this amazing visual novel.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

期待游戏的中文版呀。作者加油!!

你这个加油,估计作者看不懂

Found this through tumblr (thank u tumblr). Great game! I know nothing about art but I really liked the paintings(?) in this and everything else. I like that the protagonist is kind of judgemental at times (in her head) lol. I wish these 3 would betray me IRL!!! You are a great writer. Loved the ending.

(+1)

The artist did a really great job! I'd wanted to work with them on a project for a while, so I'm very happy they agreed!

And thank you very much; I'm glad you enjoyed it! ♡

Made an account to comment on this game - beautifully haunting and atmospheric. I didn't read the description before I started playing, and was pleasantly surprised by all the gruesome content. This game provides a unique and artful take on your typical fairy-tale premise. All of the illustrations are impeccable, and though it took me a while to get used to the writing style, it works really well for the (gorgeous) narrative tone!

I thoroughly enjoyed each route; all of the characters - including the protagonist and the narrator - are lovable, disturbing, and tragic in their own right (btw I can fix the mermaid). Delivers a poignant message about love and loneliness with the prettiest, most horrifying girls. 10/10

edit: also the soundtrack is everything

GAH I meant to post this earlier, but I did a playthrough of the Princess's route. I'm excited to get to the others eventually... beautiful writing and skin-crawling horror. Really enjoyed this experience so far!

Thank you very much for checking it out! I'm glad you've been enjoying it!

Good game, felt betrayed thrice 👍

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I really hope you can get a Chinese for the game.Ican't read English, German and Spanish.I've broken down!π_π

I hope you can understand my broken English.

(+1)

I understand your comment perfectly; don't worry about it!
I will consider adding a Chinese translation, though I can't guarantee I'll be able to make it happen.
Thank you for showing an interest in the game!

It's all Right. I can see your reply to my message, and I am very touched.

This is beautiful and cruel.

Village route hurts the most. I knew how the other two would end but Village route felt so much more like a betrayal.

I have downloaded and extracted the .zip file.

When I go to open the game, it just doesn't, its acting like I didn't even click it.

I tried opening the .exe file directly, didn't work, I tried opening it with administrator, didn't work.

P.S. I'm working with Windows 10. 64-bit.

You need to open the file called Itgetssolonelyhere.exe.
If it's not opening, then your download of the game was either corrupted and it's missing some files, or your Antivirus software is wrongfully flagging it and is preventing the game from being launched.

i cant find the exe file

You need to unzip the .zip file the game comes in. The .exe file is located inside the .zip file.

Uhh.. so I have a little problem... after I choose a language the game shuts down or forced close the app and when I try to play again it will just shut down again, I tried resetting it and after a choose a language the 2nd time it happened again.

Are you playing the Android build of the game?
If so, it's a known bug that the language chooser will close the game. You need to open it again a few times to get it to get it to work; once might not be enough. Once you've got it to work it should play smoothly without any further problems.

the music is so nice ❣️ and so is the writing,  I could feel that melancholy. The truths at the very end and the 2nd playthrough was rly cool! and I also loved the placement + name of the last steam achievement at a point in the 3rd attempt, it fit so damn well xD

I would like you to add the Portuguese language pt-br :(

If somebody offers to translate it into Pt-Br then I would add the translation!

(+1)

I have played this a bunch and i still dont know if theres more (which is a good thing). this is so amazing and as a aspiring game creator myself this gives me so many ideas, mostly the mechinic of change nearly every reset. its brilliant and i love all the hidden details we have to learn over such a long time- it takes us getting to 3 different endings just to see this big danger and to explain what EXACTLY is happening. it takes 6 deaths to learn the main characters NAME! i honestly find that amazing. cant wait to see more of your work.

(+1)

I have to say this game was a pleasant surprise, between the narrative and the complete twists with each decision made the entire game feel as though the player had literally no control and that is exactly how the MC felt during the story. This point was well established and I could not stop playing and falling in love with the characters and the story, absolutely amazing work.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the story! ♡

Of course it was so innovative I look forward to other games from you

(+1)

I will not lie I didn't expect that kinda of game I thought it will be a game with cute girlfriends or something like that (I didn't look at the infos Down from game when I downloaded it :')) but i really love it! I played all 5 endings the last one was the best

I love when Mcs from games get strong personalitys and use it!

So thank you to all who helped with the game for a great game 💜

(+1)

An absoluetly beautifully written story, it completely emersed me in the story and had me hooked sensee the beginning. I love to see the ever growing amount of queer rep in visual novels and romance games now a days. Keep up the great work!

Man, what an experience! The use of 2nd-person narration to mask but hint at the narrator's character was so cool. I really enjoyed picking up the hints of connection between routes, leading to a great payoff when the ending came. So many creative uses of the VN format, and of course, it looks amazing in every way! Thank you, I had a great time playing this!

(+1)

Thank you very much for your kind comment! I had a lot of fun working on this, and everybody involved is very talented! I'm very happy with how the VN turned out myself!

(+1)

I am not much of visual novels but I must say that your game is wonderful, I liked it so much that I would like to make one too hehe, congratulations for such a good job

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Cannibalism? Sounds good

I downloaded this on my phone but everytime I open the game it just keeps going back on my home screen. (I need help.)

(I launched the game again but sadly it still did not work. (╯︵╰,).)

(I just found out that this is a common bug on Android so I'll probably install it in my computer. I really wanna play this game. (≧▽≦).)

I had a few people saying this happened when playing on phone (probably something to do with how choosing your language is set up), but after a few attempts at opening it they were able to get it working. I tested it on my phone myself and can confirm that it does work, but you might have to try launching it a few times.

Hi, that happen to me with another game, i just close the game, and then i open again, that make it work

And here I thought video games couldn't make me cry. Masterwork in writing, absolute 10/10

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much!
I'm sorry about making you cry though ;a;

I am blown away by the music, the writing and the art. The fact that this is free is a crime. I would say I would love for an expanded version sometime in the future but I don;t want to put that kind of pressure on to you plus I'm sure you have other projects going on.

!SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT!

The one route that felt a little off was the mermaids which after reading the note makes perfect sense why. The fact that everything goes south for the main character after she falls asleep in every route but the mermaids is a little jarring but I still loved her theme of replacing someone you lost with another. She also struck me as the only love interest in the game who actively knew she was hurting the main character meanwhile the Gravedigger and the princess seemed think they were doing her a favor.

My favorite character has to be the witch. See's just....awful in such an interesting way. Constantly praying on the main characters fears and insecurities, always having a snide comment to make about her, claiming she loves her while her actions show the exact opposite.

(+3)

Belated reply (I'm bad at keeping on top of my comments aaaa), but thank you very much for taking the time to read Lonely, and for leaving so many detailed thoughts on it! It's appreciated!

I did have some vague plans to make an updated version with a couple of extra girls/routes, since there were some character concepts I thought might be fun to play with (I wanted to write a Little Red Riding Hood-style wolf ear girl), but I'm not sure if I'll actually commit to it...
I'll have to see where my muse takes me haha ;;
In any case, I hope Lonely feels like a complete experience as it is, without adding extra content!

I also think the mermaid's route is the weakest of the three, but she has the prettiest character song. I like her aesthetically at least!

Oh my god this is actually insane?? Hello?? I swear i got so swept up in this game that i barely sensed the time passing by. It's difficult for me to express how much I enjoy this game, but I am going to try anyways.
I was a bit confused why there weren't really any names given for the "love interests", but I read the NOTES and it actually made sense! I do think this would be something I'd read in my local library, if I do go outside to read books anyways. It baffles me that I get to experience this for free though?? I'd pay real money for this (if I'm not broke as hell)

I think the thing that made me sit through 2 hours and a half in this game were the characters. It's difficult for me to pick a favorite, but I did like the gravedigger girl. God, I was so sad that she did, y'know, "bury" me with love. And soil. Though I should've expected that. I did pick up on the fact that the narrator is not so faceless since, aside from narrating the series of unfortunate events, she seemed to have some thoughts that she shared in little tidbits, especially in the times of the player's demise. Although if you ask me, I would've stayed with her, but maybe that's just my love for powerful women shining through. I am so glad that the MC is a character of her own though. Going into this, I expected the usual VN experience of going through events in a body that we sorta control. However, I was wonderfully delighted when I got to see little pieces of the MC's previous life and personality in each route, even though she inevitably faced an unfortunate demise in the end.

I think this is the amateur writer in me rearing its head a bit, but I love the writing in this game so much. I think that certain words used in a certain way can help convey a feeling, whatever is desired, to the reader. And I genuinely know that you've succeeded in setting up the atmosphere and tone based on words alone, which is a difficult feat to do, might I add. One thing that did help the writing though are the art. I am in absolute awe of the artstyle. Seriously, huge kudos to the artist since I probably spent way too long on the gallery looking at their art. But speaking of which, I noticed that the background images kind of looks like a close-up shot of paintings. Maybe the texture reminds me of a painted easel? Whether it is intentional or not, I think it's a nice touch!

I apologize that my comment is lengthy and more of a ramble than a review. It's well-past midnight and I am severely sleep deprived. However, I had genuine fun playing this game and experiencing it. It is my first game by ebi-hime, and I am certain that it will not be the last. I'm planning on ending things here, but until then, please look forward to my comments! Thank you to everyone who worked in this project! May you have a bountiful harvest :D

This is a very, very late reply, aaa ;;
I'm sorry for taking such a long time to respond! I try to respond to the comments I get and don't always succeed lol but sometimes life happens...

In any case, thank you so much for the lovely long comment! It was very sweet of you to go out of your way to type up all of your thoughts like this; it must have taken you a lot of time aaa >_<

I'm not the best at thinking up character names, to be honest, so writing a story where the majority of the cast don't have names was a nice way to get out of this...
And it has ~thematic significance~ too, so that's even better!

I did think about maybe writing a couple of extra routes as paid DLC at some point down the line, but I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable doing that...
I wrote this story as a passion project, so charging for it would feel kind of wrong idk... I'm conflicted haha ;;;

I'm not a big fan of faceless, personality-less MCs in VNs, so pretty much all of my leads have personalities. I can't get excited about writing cardboard cutout main characters, so my stories pretty much always end up like this...
Writing a self-insert MC might be a fun challenge at some point in the future though...

And I'm glad you enjoyed the writing! I've been writing for a long time, and it's something I direct most of my energy towards, so I'm glad it was effective at conveying a lot ot feelings!

Thank you so much for your kind words! They really are appreciated!

Tried it on Android, game couldn't seem to get past the language select before crashing. So disappointing.

It's a common bug that Android ports of Ren'py games will crash after selecting your language.
A couple of other people reported this, but said launhing the game again after choosing their language solved the problem, and they encountered no bugs after that.

(+1)

Wow! What an amazing game! This is my first game by ebi-hime, and I'm absolutely enthralled. Scuttling away from the more bloody aspects of the yandere archetype, It gets so lonely here buries itself alive in the trope's psychological horror. The love interests are deeply traumatized by grief, guilt, death, and, yes, the loneliness of survival at all costs. The heroine isn't immune either, as her insecurities and jealousies stick to her like barnacles, making me think she would lock these women up, if given the power. Murder isn't the most healthy of love languages, but the twilit dreamy atmosphere, artful melancholy, and eerie soundtrack can lull you into thinking about it. I definitely recommend playing twice so you can sink your teeth into the True Ending!

Pretty late reply (I've been catching up on the comments on this VN this morning aaa), but thank you so much for taking the time to write about your thoughts! It's very much appreciated!

I like the yandere archetype a lot in theory, but I don't like a lot of yandere-focused media myself very much in practice.  I feel like a lot of yandere stories focus more on shock horror and gore, which is fine if you like that sort of thing, but I prefer yandere stories to dig more into the thought processes of the characters involved. I tend to find that more interesting than violent spectacle (even if there is a bit of violence here too).

I guess I just like writing characters who are sad and damaged hahaha ;;;

Played a little bit, not my type of game. Will say runs great with either Wine, or native Linux.

(+2)

well, after the end, i feel bad for our heroine, just wanted a friend.

definitely will play again, ty for this VN.

Thank you for reading it! It's appreciated! <3

Superbly well plotted! Painful yet touching. I love this VN! The gruesome deaths are *chef's kiss*

Very late reply, but thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I enjoy writing visceral scenes, so the gruesome deaths were a lot of fun to work on hehe >:)

That was SUCH a good game but I feel so bad for our "friend" :( she DID try in all posible ways (none of them good, but she did try though)

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
And yes, she is trying her best hahaha ;;
